Area Manager, RSR
This position requires in-role training at an operating site which will be 2+ weeks in duration. The training location is 50+ miles away from the home site. All travel accommodations for training will be booked and paid for by Amazon.
This role requires open flexibility to work 10-hour overnight shifts (late afternoon to early morning hours) on a front-half (Sunday – Wednesday) or back-half (Wednesday – Saturday) schedule. Shifts will be assigned upon starting and may change based on business need.
About the role
As an Area Manager, you will lead a team of hourly employees, engaging them during shifts to maintain high levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will play a key role in meeting customer expectations by ensuring orders are delivered on time and to the correct location.
Amazon’s operations workflow includes:
- First mile – where products are housed and ready for order.
- Middle mile – where orders are transported to your area.
- Last mile – when products are delivered to the customer’s door.
Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) specializes in fast, reliable deliveries, with Rural Super Rural (RSR) focusing on remote areas to ensure customer satisfaction. This role combines operations and support to innovate last-mile delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your team.
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery commitments.
- Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, HR) to meet business objectives.
- Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks (pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs).
- Work in variable environments (noise levels, temperatures, weather; includes outdoor loading and refrigerated areas).
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts.
Requirements
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
Pay
Base salary range: $70,000 – $90,900 annually (USA, UT, Naples City).
