Area Manager
About the role
The Area Manager will oversee Multi-Unit General Managers who manage our Brick and Mortar locations in NYC. The Area Manager's primary responsibility will be to oversee the General Manager team and hourly team leadership/development, operational excellence, and guest experience while upholding the Van Leeuwen culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Train, coach, supervise and provide support to assigned GM's to achieve store metrics
- Ensure successful rollout of new products, systems, practices and policies
- Communicate regularly with team members
- Work with HR to ensure all company policies are being followed
- Analyze GM performance and provide feedback, guidance, training and encouragement
- Provide operational solutions to issues that arise in the stores
- Aid GM with order placement and delivery coordination
- Aid in monitoring overall customer experience
- Aid GM with health department inspections and preparation
- Spend regular time in stores in order to fine-tune processes and keep tabs on employees
- Assume leadership role in stores where a GM is not present
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of retail leadership experience (experience in a district or area manager position required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google-suite tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to train and coach team members of all levels
- Able to multitask
- Able to push/pull 50 lbs of weight
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Able to repeatedly bend over
- Must be based in New York City Metro Area

$100,000—$120,000 USD
