Area Manager 2026 – KY, VA (Recent and Upcoming Graduates)
This is a full-time, entry-level position located within one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operations buildings. This role is not corporate, remote, or office-based.
About the role
Amazon is seeking customer-focused individuals to lead a team of hourly employees across our Operations network. As an Area Manager, you will engage, lead, and develop your team in a fast-paced warehouse environment where standing, walking, and on-the-production-floor conversations are common. You will motivate, mentor, and manage your team to meet goals while ensuring they have the tools needed to succeed in safety, quality, attendance, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate 50–100 direct-report Amazon Associates
- Work independently in an autonomous environment
- Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
- Work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs (most sites follow a fixed 4-day work week with 3 days off)
- Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, and operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities)
- Step in as needed in an environment where noise levels vary
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Climb and descend stairs (when applicable)
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree with all requirements completed between May 2024 and August 2026 (all degree requirements must be met before your first day)
- Work authorization without employer intervention
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Currently enrolled in or graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or another related field

Pay
Base pay for this position ranges from $65,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $85,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
