Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with oversight of Stationstore operations, including hiring, supervising, and working with staff to accomplish daily tasks, bookkeeping, and merchandising
- Maintain high standards and provide fast, friendly customer service
- Ensure regular and predictable onsite attendance
- Execute the food program to set standards
- Demonstrate care for customers and set an example for staff
- Display a sense of urgency, patience, and leadership
- Lead a team of employees and management
- Recruit, interview, and hire staff
- Delegate tasks and follow up on their completion
- Teach and motivate others
- Plan and organize operations
- Communicate plans and ideas effectively
- Handle cash and bookkeeping
- Solve problems efficiently
- Advocate for and empathize with customers and staff
- Maintain safety and security standards
Qualifications
- Retail experience
- Supervisor or management experience
- Recruiting, hiring, and interviewing skills
- Experience handling food
- High school or college degree(s)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours
- Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes in a shift
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level
- Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds
- Bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour a shift
- Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands, requiring eye-hand coordination
- May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs
