About the Role

Responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of employees in the maintenance department and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Oversees scheduling and maintaining efficient operations including line speed, controlling downtime, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs superintendents to assign equipment and personnel across project assignments as needed.
  • Coordinates, installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems within the production area.
  • Supervises installation, inspections, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related production systems.
  • Updates inventory and ensures all needed materials are available.
  • Directs and manages superintendents, encouraging training to increase competency and commitment.
  • Ensures adequate staffing is maintained.
  • Reports on maintenance, repairs, installations, and inspections.
  • Communicates and enforces knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions.
  • Enforces Goal Zero safety standards throughout the facility.
  • Maintains and repairs all production facility equipment to minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant maintenance field desired; technical degree/training or relevant certifications (e.g., Electrical (Master’s), Refrigeration (RETA level 4), CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator)) may substitute for degree.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated utility management experience in a manufacturing environment, including a successful track record managing shifts or operations with progression in size and scope.
  • Previous poultry experience preferred; manufacturing management experience required if no poultry experience.
  • Ability to maintain and repair all production facility equipment efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of first processing operations from receiving through evisceration.
  • Performance-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and courteously with employees and vendors/contractors.
