Responsibilities

  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety into all tasks.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Perform all duties of other Pre-Cooked Department Lead Persons (Forming Room, 3rd Floor, 4th Floor).
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication between floors, departments, and shifts.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of daily and weekly start-up and shutdown procedures for equipment such as Doboy, ovens, and spiral freezers.
  • Understand all customer specifications and perform weight/quality checks, metal detector checks, and required computer or paperwork entries, including Infinity QS data entry.
  • Evaluate product to ensure it meets specifications and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Work with the Processing Supervisor and/or subordinates to resolve employee issues, complaints, or grievances.
  • Tolerate temperature variations throughout all areas of the Pre-Cooked Department for the entire shift.
  • Attend seminars and training to enhance professional competence.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and interacting effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and assist Maintenance with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Make decisions and perform the responsibilities of the Processing Supervisor in their absence.
  • Follow safe work practices, GMPs, and HACCP guidelines; maintain sanitary conditions; and ensure product quality to support SQF Level 3 certification.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees.
  • Ability to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
