Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of company personnel
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with business leaders across DSC North America to foster collaboration and ongoing sharing of best practices and resources
- Effectively interact with DSC North America HR and other functions, ensuring local issues are considered in strategy and initiative development
- Maintain a strong understanding of current affairs, particularly political and social agendas, and assess their impact on the business area
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Provide guidance and recommendations to business managers on people-related matters
- Serve as an advocate and counsel to hourly and exempt associates
- Develop and drive initiatives supporting site climate and culture
- Manage and conduct internal investigations as needed
Compliance
- Effectively implement HR policies compliant with statutory regulations and best practices
- Ensure compliance with all required regulations, policies, and laws related to Human Resources activities
Growth
- Ensure management is trained in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment
- Provide feedback and coaching to managers, actively listen, and ask clarifying questions regarding associates
- Manage staffing, succession planning, and associate programs and processes
- Implement and manage training and development activities, monitoring effectiveness
- Conduct trainings as necessary
- Provide start-up support
Continuity
- Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits systems, processes, and employee communications
Cyclical Activities
- Oversee the administration of and action planning for the annual EOS process
- Ensure compliance with and execution of performance management systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of work experience
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- 7+ years of experience in HR with exposure to all major functional areas
- Competence in building and managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- Previous experience partnering with senior management
