About the role

Join Datavant, a leading data collaboration platform for healthcare, where you'll process medical record requests, document information, and maintain confidentiality in a high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process medical record requests by taking calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to provide medical status.
  • Document information in multiple platforms using two computer monitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security with all privileged information.
  • Manage patient health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Prepare new patient charts, gather documents and information from paper sources and/or electronic health record.
  • Ensure medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete.
  • Create digital images of paperwork to be stored in the electronic medical record.
  • Respond to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving them and transmitting them appropriately.
  • Answer inbound/outbound calls.
  • Assist with patient walk-ins.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as handling faxes, opening mail, and data entry.
  • Schedule pick-ups.
  • Generate reports for manager or facility as directed.
  • Participate in project teams and committees to advance operational strategies and initiatives as needed.
  • Act in a lead role with staff regarding general questions and assist with new hire training and developmental training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
  • 1-year Health Information related experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs.
  • Able to organize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume production environment.
  • Able to travel local/regionally 75% or more of the time.
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Pay

Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM CST.
