About the role
This role is full-time temporary, Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM EST. It is located at multiple locations including Johns Creek, GA 30097. The position involves processing medical record requests, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to company and facility policies.
Responsibilities
- Process patient health information requests in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all privileged information.
- Manage patient health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Create digital images of paperwork for storage in the electronic medical record.
- Respond to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources.
- Handle patient walk-ins and assist with administrative duties such as handling faxes, opening mail, and data entry.
- Schedule pick-ups and assist with training associates in the HIS I position.
- Generate reports for managers or facilities as directed.
- Participate in project teams and committees to advance operational strategies and initiatives.
- Exceed level 1 productivity expectations as outlined at specific sites.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Able to travel locally up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
- One year of Health Information related experience.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and respond to changing priorities and role needs.
- Able to organize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment.
