Qualifications
- At least 1 year of related ministry experience
- Proven ability to build and lead teams
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults
- A call to reach kids with the Gospel
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- College degree preferred
Job Specific Duties
- Recruiting and developing volunteer leaders
- Building meaningful relationships with adolescents
- Oversight of ministry growth and sustainability
- Leading teams and individuals in spiritual development
- Developing consistent gatherings with committee, leaders and staff
- Recruiting and training new staff and leaders
- Supervising, developing and evaluating area staff
- Providing quality summer staff, work crew and adult guests for summer camps
- Modeling excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping
- Training leaders, team leaders and committee how to work effectively in teams
- Leading or co-leading a model Young Life club
- Leading/supervising an effective Campaigner ministry with excellence
- Observing and evaluating each school/ministry in the local area
- Developing and implementing ongoing plans to maximize Gospel proclamation through camping opportunities
- Serving on a summer assignment at a Young Life property, other Young Life camp or in another position
- Managing finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency
- Maintaining accurate information on kids, leaders and donors
- Providing clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication to everyone involved in ministry
- Setting yearly strategic ministry plan and initiatives to reach every kid
Working Conditions
- Will include the extremes of a camp assignment, e.g., heat/cold, dirt, long hours and the physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, boating, etc.
- Staff person must be able to handle these conditions
