About the role
Join the US Sanofi Vaccines team as we evolve into a more agile, digital, and business-to-business-driven organization. As an Area Business Manager (ABM), you will help implement a new go-to-market strategy, acting as a business owner for your territory. You will drive revenue growth across a full portfolio of vaccines, strengthen customer relationships, and engage in account-based interactions within key segments such as Pediatrics, Family/General Practice, IDN/IHNs, Health Systems, and Federally Qualified Health Centers. The ABM role focuses on delivering clinically focused selling messages, orchestrating cross-functional support, and improving customer and patient outcomes in a fast-changing healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
- Grow portfolio share and revenue while consistently delivering on product goals.
- Serve as a therapeutic area expert, positioning and differentiating products effectively.
- Collaborate with field-based stakeholders (e.g., Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access teammates, strategic account managers) to address customer needs proactively.
- Identify market dynamics and trends, developing strategies to support brand and corporate objectives.
- Leverage account and territory data, working with internal specialists to derive insights that help HCPs operate more effectively.
- Determine optimal ABM strategies for HCPs using AI and digital tools in an agile manner.
- Drive results by identifying key opportunities and developing strategic business plans to grow territory business.
- Understand and differentiate portfolio contracting options, comparing competitive offerings through financial presentations.
- Operate within a buy/bill model, performing tasks such as complex pricing analysis, product shipping, contract compliance monitoring, and securing contract amendments.
- Adapt to changing environments and sales methodologies, including remote selling techniques.
- Plan, organize, and execute local promotional speaker programs and activities.
- Maximize the budget allocated to your geographic territory to support strategy execution and business growth.
- Participate in and lead initiatives supporting sales success (e.g., industry congresses, local/regional meetings, medical conferences).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of pharmaceutical, life sciences, and/or business-to-business sales experience (preferred).
- Broad understanding of the healthcare environment, decision-making processes, and market trends with a proven track record of accessing decision-makers.
- Experience and success within a business-to-business environment.
- Strong commercial business acumen, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and innovative capabilities.
- Ability to navigate a hybrid environment and determine the optimal HCP selling model.
- Agility to adjust priorities due to changing circumstances.
- Comfort operating in complex environments with a passion for continuous learning.
- Experience with omnichannel approaches and executing customer engagement using insights.
- Demonstrated ability to use data analytics to uncover valuable insights for customer solutions.
- Proactive in strengthening knowledge related to disease states, treatment options, and healthcare trends.
- Ability to execute tactical initiatives, provide feedback, and prioritize multiple products.
- Broad field sales experience with demonstrated success influencing decision-makers.
- Self-directed, organized, with excellent execution and planning skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, eligibility for insurance coverage, and ability to safely operate a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience with business-to-business expertise.
- 2+ years of account management experience.
- Enhanced digital acumen.
- Strong clinical acumen.
- Experience in Market Access, Pricing, Contracting, or Finance.
- Proficiency with MS Office and customer management databases.
