You will build trusting relationships with healthcare professionals, both face-to-face and remotely, ensuring all actions are in the interests of both customers and patients or consumers. Your role will focus on maximizing the reach of our products and contributing to Sanofi’s purpose of chasing the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.
As an Area Business Manager (ABM), you will engage in account-based business-to-business interactions within customer segments such as Pediatrics, Family/General Practice, IDN/IHNs, Health Systems, and Federally Qualified Health Centers. You will present clinically focused selling messages to create and grow revenue, consistently delivering on Sanofi Vaccines portfolio goals. Acting as an “account orchestrator,” you will provide a cohesive customer experience and improve outcomes by leveraging cross-functional support from internal teams across US vaccines.
You’ll demonstrate initiative, drive, and independence, taking ownership of your book of business to meet and exceed individual goals while driving performance and delivering results in a compliant manner with integrity. Responsibilities
- Grow portfolio share and revenue to consistently deliver on product goals.
- Become a therapeutic area expert, positioning and differentiating products effectively.
- Collaborate with field-based stakeholders such as Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access teammates, strategic account managers, and Hospital business managers to proactively address customer needs.
- Identify market dynamics and trends, developing strategies that support brand and corporate objectives for optimal account success.
- Engage with account and territory data, working with internal data specialists to derive insights that help HCPs operate more effectively.
- Determine optimal ABM strategy for HCPs using AI and digital tools in an agile manner.
- Drive results by identifying key opportunities and developing strategic business plans to generate product utilization and grow territory business.
- Understand and differentiate portfolio contracting options and competitive offerings through financial presentations.
- Perform according to a buy/bill model, including complex pricing analysis, price calculator usage, product shipping, monitoring contract compliance, and securing contract amendments.
- Adapt to changing environments and sales methodologies, including remote selling techniques.
- Plan, organize, and execute local promotional speaker programs and activities.
- Maximize budget allocated to the geographic territory to support execution of strategies and tactics.
- Participate in and help lead initiatives to support sales success, such as industry-related congresses, local and regional meetings, and medical conferences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of pharmaceutical, life sciences, and/or business-to-business sales experience.
- Broad understanding of the healthcare environment, decision-making processes, and market trends with a proven track record of accessing decision-makers.
- Skills and success within a business-to-business environment.
- Strong commercial business acumen, strategic and critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative capabilities.
- Ability to navigate a hybrid environment and determine the optimal HCP selling model.
- Agility to adjust priorities due to changing circumstances.
- Experience with omnichannel approaches and executing customer engagement through appropriate channels using insights.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to uncover valuable insights for innovative customer solutions.
- Passion and aptitude for science, with proactive efforts to strengthen knowledge related to disease states, treatment options, and healthcare trends.
- Ability to execute tactical initiatives, provide ongoing feedback, and prioritize multiple products.
- Broad field sales experience with demonstrated success influencing decision-makers.
- Self-directed, organized, with excellent execution and planning skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, eligibility for insurance coverage, and ability to safely operate a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales experience with business-to-business experience.
- 2+ years of account management experience in vaccines.
- Enhanced digital acumen.
- Strong clinical acumen.
- Experience working in Market Access, Pricing, Contracting, or Finance.
- Proficiency with MS Office and customer management databases.
