About the role
Missouri Enterprise is seeking an Area Business Manager (ABM) to work directly with manufacturers across Missouri. This is a consultative business development role focused on helping manufacturers identify opportunities for growth, improve performance, and connect with resources that drive measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturing leaders throughout your assigned territory
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and in-person visits
- Conduct on-site meetings to understand client challenges and opportunities
- Connect manufacturers with solutions that improve profitability, productivity, workforce performance, and overall business results
- Collaborate with Missouri Enterprise project managers and technical experts to develop customized solutions
- Manage opportunities throughout the sales process and maintain a healthy pipeline
- Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities
- Represent Missouri Enterprise at industry events, trade shows, and community functions
Requirements
- Experience in business development, account management, consultative sales, or manufacturing leadership
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Ability to engage decision-makers and build trust with clients
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and/or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
