About the role

Missouri Enterprise is seeking an Area Business Manager (ABM) to work directly with manufacturers across Missouri. This is a consultative business development role focused on helping manufacturers identify opportunities for growth, improve performance, and connect with resources that drive measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturing leaders throughout your assigned territory
  • Prospect and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and in-person visits
  • Conduct on-site meetings to understand client challenges and opportunities
  • Connect manufacturers with solutions that improve profitability, productivity, workforce performance, and overall business results
  • Collaborate with Missouri Enterprise project managers and technical experts to develop customized solutions
  • Manage opportunities throughout the sales process and maintain a healthy pipeline
  • Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities
  • Represent Missouri Enterprise at industry events, trade shows, and community functions

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, account management, consultative sales, or manufacturing leadership
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Ability to engage decision-makers and build trust with clients
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and/or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
