Area Business Leader, Alzheimer's Disease - (Pittsburgh, PA)

About the role
The Area Business Leader (ABL) will lead a team of Neurology Account Specialists (NAS) supporting a key product launch. The ABL will build and lead a dynamic team to develop and execute business plans for assigned geographies, conveying complex clinical information to customers and key stakeholders regarding FDA-approved indications of this novel therapy. The role involves implementing local business plans to achieve regional objectives, ensuring NASs educate customers on the simplest patient pathway to therapy, and serving as the primary point of contact for a small number of key institutions. The ABL will foster key stakeholder relationships, secure product access through effective P&T coordination, and drive demand generation to meet or exceed sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Attract, hire, and develop a diverse new team of NASs while acclimating them to Eisai’s culture and commitment to our human healthcare mission (hhc).
- Develop sales team capabilities to ensure sales objectives are met or exceeded through coaching, training, inspiring, and performance management, including pull-through of launch business plans.
- Lead, manage, and execute a successful product launch consistent with Eisai’s standards alongside NAS.
- Schedule routine virtual/in-person meetings with internal franchise partners to facilitate timely exchange of information and ensure launch expectations are met.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to align with organizational objectives, Eisai values, and our hhc mission.
- Participate in industry congresses, local/regional meetings, medical conferences, and sales/training meetings as needed.
- Lead and coach daily activities in compliance with Eisai policies.
- Manage the resolution of operational conflicts and provide alternative approaches to solve territory and business issues.
- Demonstrate strong awareness, understanding, and adherence to all industry and Company regulations and guidelines; apply these standards across business operations.
- Continuously align with the Regional Business Director to support Eisai’s selling model and develop the NAS customer-facing skill set.
- Cultivate a culture of high performance with emphasis on individual and team accountability.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in conjunction with the AD Regional Thought Leader Liaison (RTLL).
- Communicate formally and informally with Eisai Senior Leaders, providing business updates and launch progress against set objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (BA, BS, or equivalent) required.
- Minimum 7 years of pharma, biotech, or medical device sales experience, with 5 years successfully hiring, developing, and leading teams (or equivalent internal experience).
- Experience in buy-and-bill, diagnostics (integrated, complex), infusion, neurology, or clinical/medical settings.
- Additional commercial function experience preferred (e.g., sales training, marketing, managed markets, sales/business analytics).
- Experience building and executing comprehensive business plans.
- Deep understanding of healthcare ecosystems and account management, including navigating complex accounts (e.g., integrated delivery networks, health systems).
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams to deliver strong results and profitability, establishing partnerships, and leveraging market insights.
- Expertise in the U.S. healthcare industry, including delivery of care, market access, reimbursement landscape, and key stakeholders.
- Ability to network, establish, and maintain strong business relationships across multidisciplinary matrix teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle legally, safely, and successfully; must travel 80% of the time.

- Ability to engage in person with HCPs and third parties at their offices, institutions, and other locations; may require completing third-party credentialing/entry requirements, including vaccination attestations.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this role (Pittsburgh, PA) is $191,680–$251,600. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in Eisai Inc. Sales Incentive Plan and Eisai Inc. Long-Term Incentive Plan - Field Sales. Final pay determinations depend on factors including experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
