About the role

A full-time, day-to-day STAR Substitute provides instruction, supervision, and operational support to ensure continuity of learning during the absence of school employees.

Responsibilities

• Provides general day-to-day support to schools, including instruction, supervision, and operations.
• Creates an environment conducive to learning, appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
• Processes paperwork to ensure daily school operations are met.
• Maintains, implements, and establishes school rituals, routines, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a professional appearance at all times and remains at school for the entire workday.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Establishes reasonable rules of conduct to encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
• Performs lunch duty, hall duty, and other school-related duties as assigned by the Principal.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.5 GPA from a Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university.
