About the role

The Sagamore Hills ES is seeking an SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Affirms daily classroom management activities designed to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Aids teachers in assessing student performance through standardized and non-standardized testing and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Aids in the development and organization of instructional materials for students and ensures their availability before scheduled instructional segments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university.
• - or - High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Must obtain a valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.
