ARE ALL THE PERFORMERS ON YOUR WEBSITE MEMBERS OF SAG-AFTRA?

All talent on the Producer's Handy Dandy website are based in the Mid-Atlantic region, primarily from the area including Washington D.C., Baltimore, Maryland, and Richmond, Virginia. Your primary residence must be located in this area to be considered.

Requirements

• Active member of SAG-AFTRA
• Working voiceover professional with an internet connection and the ability to record MP3s
• Submit a demo and a brief description of recent work for review
• Located in the Washington/Baltimore/Richmond area

Fees

The administrative and membership fee is $150 for the calendar year; payment is due upon acceptance.

Equipment & Software

• Basic setup: computer microphone ($10-$30) plugged into your computer’s sound card (headphone/microphone combinations are available)
• Recommended free recording and editing software: Audacity (Windows/Mac) with tutorials and online help
• Alternative: use a studio with discounted rates for voiceover professionals to edit demos into 15-30 second clips

Demo Guidelines

• Upload MP3 files (mono or stereo, 128Kb) with clips limited to 15-30 seconds
• Enter as many vocal style categories as you like (more categories increase search visibility)
• Only native speakers eligible for the Foreign Language category
• Update or replace demos anytime via the Talent Login page
• Clips must accurately represent their category; mismatched clips may be removed

Audition Process

• Selected talent receive a script by email
• Record the script as an MP3 and upload it promptly via the provided link
• Use the same email link to decline the audition if needed
• If selected for the job, the audition requester will contact you directly

Updating Information

• Talent are responsible for keeping their information current
• Log in to update details, delete old demos, or upload new ones anytime
