Architecture Sr. Design Manager- Japanese Speaking
Gray AES is looking for an Architecture Sr. Design Manager (Japanese Speaking) to join our team remotely or in our Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Lexington, KY; or Fullerton, CA office. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (or degree from a technical college); or minimum of seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and AutoCAD applications. Knowledge of project-specific applications may be required.

Responsibilities
- Review design proposal criteria and facilitate preparation of proposal documents for construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Provide research on project design, including applicable code and regulatory requirements.
- Consult with customers to determine functional and spatial requirements for new structures or renovations, and prepare design, specifications, materials, color, and equipment details.
- Prepare project layouts and integrate engineering elements into unified designs for customer review and approval.
- Ensure quality assurance and control of design documents across all disciplines, including reviewing documents prepared by Architectural Technicians, sub-consultants, and design-build subcontractors.
- Prepare and administer design contracts with customers and/or sub-consultants.
- Facilitate design reviews and present current design documents for customer approval.
- Coordinate design activities with customers and Gray AES sub-consultants.
- Facilitate preparation of schematic, design development, and construction documents, and manage construction administration activities.
- Develop design schedules and estimate A/E costs for projects.
- Monitor project design activities to ensure compliance with Gray AES standards and procedures.
- Manage administrative tasks and costs related to design activities for accurate cost control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, talk, or hear.
- Regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.
- Primarily works in a normal office environment with controlled noise, temperature, and humidity.
- Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather, high/precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibrations.
- Noise levels on job sites may range from moderate to loud.
- Overtime and some travel may be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May supervise 1 to 3 team members, such as Architectural Technicians and Assistant Design Managers.
- Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; providing performance input; addressing complaints; and resolving problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
