Architecture Project Lead

About the Role

As a Project Lead at CUBE 3, you will serve as the key point person on a project team, working under the direction of the Project Manager or Project Executive to deliver exceptional design and technical solutions. This role requires strong design and technical abilities, professional experience, and the ability to perform in a self-directed manner across all phases of the design process, including programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day responsibilities of a project, including design, coordination with consultants, and organization of construction documentation.
  • Develop design studies, concepts, and sketches for approval with the Project Manager or Project Executive.
  • Prepare documentation for Schematic Design and Design Development phases.
  • Create client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models, and graphics.
  • Prepare accurate, coordinated, and complete Contract Documents, including plans, details, sections, elevations, and schedules (minimum of 5 completed sets).
  • Oversee amendments, addenda, and bulletins in support of the Project Manager.
  • Lead revisions and technical alternatives for review by the Project Manager.
  • Manage project workflow, scheduling, and project management tasks independently.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of consulting engineers, including document review, communications, and coordination efforts.
  • Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure complete project review.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff while maintaining a strong leadership role on projects.
  • Maintain proactive and positive relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Actively participate in business development opportunities.
  • Adhere to the C3S Project Delivery Manual for all tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in architecture, interiors, and/or the construction profession.
  • Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Architecture or Interior Design School.
  • Strong experience in all design phases, including a minimum of five completed projects from Schematic Design through Construction Documents and Construction Administration.
  • Proven technical skills in detailing and organizing construction documents.
  • Superb communication skills with consultants, clients, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in Revit, 3-D modeling software, and BIM.
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, collaborative, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to run internal and consultant meetings and prepare project presentations.
  • Expert understanding of architectural and/or interior design principles, construction materials, and methods.
  • NCIDQ or ARE certification, plus LEED Certification.
  • Ongoing professional growth in the design and construction industry.

Additional Qualifications

  • A valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to our firm’s liability insurance carrier.
