Responsibilities
- Lead the development, design, and delivery of Federal architecture projects from concept through construction
- Serve as the primary client contact for Federal projects, ensuring alignment with mission, budget, and community goals
- Pursue new business opportunities by identifying prospects, developing proposals, and participating in interviews and presentations
- Direct project teams, ensuring design quality, technical accuracy, and adherence to schedule and budget
- Collaborate with other practice leaders and disciplines to promote cross-sector innovation and firmwide collaboration
- Mentor and develop staff in federal design principles, client service, and project leadership
- Maintain knowledge of trends and emerging issues in public architecture, including sustainability, resilience, accessibility, and community engagement
- Support marketing and business development activities through speaking engagements, conference participation, and professional involvement
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain active oversight of key milestones and deliverables
- Promote the firm’s values of excellence, respect, integrity, innovation, and social responsibility through all project work and client interactions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Architecture or Interior Architecture required; Master’s degree preferred
- Licensed Architect (RA) required; NCARB certification preferred
- 10+ years’ experience with a proven track record of pursuit success in the Federal market
- Proven success in business development and client relationship management within the federal sector
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with 3D visualization software (SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, or similar) preferred
- Strong leadership skills, with experience leading, guiding, and mentoring a team
- Some travel required
