This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus through Federal Work-Study. Must maintain a 2.0-grade point average.
Schedule
For Fall 2026, with potential continuation into Spring 2027 if the candidate has a Federal Work-Study award. The current need is for 10–12 hours per week.
Architecture & Fine Arts Library Regular Hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 8 am – 10 pm
- Friday: 8 am – 5 pm
- Sunday: 2 pm – 10 pm
Responsibilities
- Staff the Service Desk
- Search the UF Library Catalog to determine the location of library materials and availability for loan
- Loan and return library materials
- Assist patrons with Course Reserves, printers, scanners, workstations, and basic questions about library accounts and policies
- Answer telephone calls and provide directional assistance
- Assist patrons with general questions and refer them to other staff when needed
- Organize and re-shelve circulating library materials
- Patrol the library to collect browsed materials and report maintenance or technical equipment issues to supervisor
- Assist supervisor with collections projects (re-shelving, dusting, organizing, and shifting sections of the collection)
Requirements
- Registered for Fall 2026 classes at UF
- Punctual and reliable
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Good communication skills and customer-service oriented
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs and climb flights of stairs
- Federal Work-Study Award for Fall 2026 semester (verify award status)
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Pay
$15.00 per hour
