About the role
The Architectural Specialties, Associate Project Manager/Project Manager role is an integral part of the AS Project Management Team. This position partners with Sales, Operations, and vendors to engineer high-quality ceiling solutions for external customers including architects, contractors, and distributors. The role serves as a technical expert who builds strong relationships with key decision-makers to educate customers, support the bidding process, generate sales opportunities, and ultimately help secure high-value projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage medium to large custom projects to achieve cost, margin, schedule, performance, and quality targets.
- Oversee project execution from order receipt through shipment and invoicing.
- Manage project risks to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and files.
- Manage customer communication throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Lead the change order management process.
- Provide leadership to the project team including CAD designers, project coordinators, and order preparation teams.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of the submittal process.
- Manage the flow of project information between customers and internal teams.
- Identify project risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure mock-ups are completed before production.
- Oversee preparation and routing of approval packages and required signoffs.
- Utilize Newforma project management software to track project progress and communications.
- Partner with the Sales team to develop value-engineered solutions that meet customer budgets.
- Support the bidding and quotation process for custom specialty ceiling solutions.
- Participate in sales calls to provide technical expertise on products and installation.
- Provide technical education and support to internal and external customers.
- Assist with on-site technical support for installation or claim-related issues.
- Use Oasis takeoff software to create project takeoffs.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and design teams on complex custom projects.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to improve cost, performance, or lead time.
Qualifications
- Aceessory’s degree required, ideally in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related technical field.
- 5–10 years of project management experience, ideally in construction or a related industry.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to read architectural drawings.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong mathematical abilities including margin calculations, square footage calculations, and cost analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
