Architectural Specialist

About the Role

This position supports the architectural design function by producing, coordinating, and maintaining design drawings, documentation, and related technical materials. This role works under moderate supervision and applies broad discipline knowledge to achieve operational and functional targets with moderate impact on team results. This position may assist entry-level team members as needed.

Responsibilities

• Apply broad architectural design knowledge to support plan development, revisions, and documentation.
• Prepare, update, and maintain architectural drawings, specifications, and related materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established design standards.
• Influence others within the team through explanation of facts, policies, and design practices.
• Solve difficult problems by drawing on prior experience and conducting analysis of issues.
• Identify when problems require understanding of adjacent job areas and escalate appropriately.
• Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals and support staff.
• Support design quality control processes, file management, and documentation accuracy.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, tools, and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant architectural design or drafting experience, or equivalent (e.g., 6–8 years total experience).
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, drafting, or a related field.
• Experience supporting architectural design documentation or production activities.
• Experience working within a team-based architectural or design environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional experience supporting architectural design in a homebuilding or construction environment.
• Knowledge of architectural documentation standards and design workflows.
• Experience using architectural design or CAD software platforms.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a general office environment with regular collaboration across design, engineering, and construction departments. Some tasks may require visits to construction sites to gather information or verify details. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
