Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of faith-based architectural projects from concept through construction completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and staffing to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership with a strong emphasis on building envelope systems, constructability, detailing, and building code compliance.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural construction documents and specifications.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, life safety regulations, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Coverage of multidisciplinary consultants including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants.
- Mentor and provide guidance to architects, designers, and technical staff throughout all phases of design.
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and design reviews while fostering long-term client relationships.
- Review drawings for quality assurance and technical accuracy before project milestones.
- Support permitting efforts and respond to plan review comments.
- Participate in construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, site observations, punch lists, and resolution of field issues.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on project planning, staffing, and business development opportunities within the faith-based market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Licensed Architect (RA) preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered.
- 7+ years post licensed architectural experience with progressively increasing project management responsibilities.
- Experience managing faith-based, institutional, community, or similar complex architectural projects preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in building envelope design, waterproofing, exterior wall systems, roofing systems, and technical detailing.
- Thorough knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), accessibility standards, life safety requirements, and applicable local building codes.
- Strong proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Able to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Strong client relationship and problem-solving skills.
