Architectural Job Captain - Irvine

About the role

TCA Architects specializes in planning and design of high-density multifamily housing, retail, mixed-use, and hospitality developments. A Job Captain is responsible for design development, construction document preparation, and team coordination on multifamily and mixed-use projects. The firm operates studios in Irvine, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Honolulu, with over 20,000 residences currently in development.

Responsibilities

• Design development and construction document preparation
• Team coordination on multifamily and mixed-use projects
• Hand sketch details prior to producing Revit drawings

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 to 6 years architectural experience
• 2 to 4 years of experience in multifamily projects required
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years Revit experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of construction administration experience preferred
• Working knowledge of building construction types I, III, and V
• Strong understanding of IBC, CBC, and disabled access requirements
• Good understanding of consultant drawings and systems
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture required
• California licensed Architect or on track to become licensed preferred

Skills

• Proficiency in Revit
• Knowledge of building materials and construction techniques
• Excellent organizational skills

Position Location

The Job Captain will work in the Irvine office with a schedule of Monday–Wednesday in the office and Thursday–Friday remote.
