Architectural Job Captain (AIA Level III)

About the role

Parallax is an architectural design and planning firm in Culver City, specializing in independent school buildings. We have over 30 years of experience serving schools in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley regions.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural planning and design concepts for educational buildings under the direction of the Project Principals
• SUPPORT consultant meetings and design presentations
• CORPORATE architectural design and building systems with engineering consultants
• COORDINATE with junior production staff on project design drawing and detailing
• SUPPORT work with City and/or County agencies to resolve code related issues
• SUPPOR throughout the project construction phase by answering design RFI’s and reviewing shop submittals

Qualifications

• B-Arch from a U.S. College or University
• At least 6-10 years of professional experience developing institutional buildings
• Licensure preferred
• Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
• Working knowledge/fluency in Revit for project design and detailing
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Familiarity with Los Angeles building and zoning codes
• Knowledge of construction materials, standards and details
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Los Angeles area resident
• Must be authorized to work in the US
