Architectural Glass Technical Consultant

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for architectural glass, glazing systems, façade applications, and window film projects.
  • Provide technical recommendations and guidance for commercial construction and renovation projects.
  • Aid project teams in selecting appropriate products and glazing solutions based on project requirements.
  • Support customers throughout the project lifecycle from design development through project completion.

Product Expertise & Specification Support

  • Advise architects, façade consultants, glazing contractors, and developers on product selection and system compatibility.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding:
    • Architectural flat glass applications
    • Commercial glazing systems
    • Window film technologies
    • Solar control solutions
    • Safety and security glazing
    • Energy-efficient building envelope solutions
  • Afford assistance with specification development and performance-based product recommendations.
  • Support project teams with technical documentation and product performance information.

Building Performance & Regulatory Compliance

  • Provide expertise related to:
    • Energy performance
    • THERMAL STRESS ANALYSIS
    • SOLAR HEAT GAIN CONTROL
    • DAYLIGHTING CONSIDERATIONS
    • Safety glazing requirements
    • BUILDING CODE COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure recommendations align with applicable industry standards and project requirements.
  • Stay current on glazing regulations, building codes, and performance standards.

Training & Industry Education

  • Conduct technical presentations, educational seminars, and training sessions for:
    • Architects
    • Façade consultants
    • Glazing contractors
    • Fabricators
    • Developers
    • Internal sales teams
  • Support industry outreach initiatives and continuing education programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams including:
    • Sales
    • Engineering
    • Manufacturing
    • Product Development
    • Quality Assurance
  • Provide technical support during project planning, execution, and post-installation phases.
  • Afford assistance with customer inquiries and project-specific technical requirements.

Field Support & Problem Resolution

  • Provide field troubleshooting and technical issue resolution.
  • Afford support to project teams in identifying and resolving installation or performance challenges.
  • Conduct site visits and project reviews when necessary.
  • Develop practical solutions to complex technical problems while maintaining project timelines and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Architectural glass
    • Commercial glazing systems
    • Façade consulting
    • Window film technologies
    • Technical consulting within the building envelope industry
  • Experience working directly with:
    • Glazing contractors
    • Fabricators
    • Developers
    • Architects
    • Façade consultants
    • Commercial construction project teams
  • Proven experience providing:
    • Technical consultation
    • Product recommendations
    • Specification guidance
    • Project support
  • Strong understanding of commercial glazing applications and building envelope performance.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience conducting technical training sessions, educational seminars, or product demonstrations.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Field troubleshooting
    • Technical issue resolution
    • Project support activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with energy codes, glazing standards, and façade performance requirements.
  • Knowledge of architectural window film technologies and solar control solutions.
  • Experience working with building performance analysis and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Existing industry relationships within the architectural and glazing community.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel as needed for:
    • Project support
    • Client meetings
    • Site visits
    • Technical presentations
    • Industry events
    • Training sessions
