Architectural Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural and engineering designs for commercial, residential, or industrial projects
- Create detailed construction drawings and specifications using advanced CAD/BIM software
- Cook up integrated design solutions with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers
- Perform building system analyses and calculations
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards
- Develop sustainable design solutions incorporating energy efficiency and environmental considerations
- Review contractor submittals and RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design compliance
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and objectives
- Prepare and present design proposals and technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in architectural design and engineering
- Professional registration (PE, RA, or both) preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software
- Strong understanding of building systems and construction methods
- Knowledge of building codes and industry standards
- Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED principles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong project management abilities
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering
- LEED AP certification
- Experience with parametric design software
- Knowledge of construction cost estimation
- Familiarity with energy modeling software
- Experience in specific building types (healthcare, education, etc.)
Technical Skills
- Proficient in BIM software (Revit, ArchiCAD)
- 3D modeling and visualization tools (SketchUp, 3ds Max)
- Energy analysis software
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Project management software
