Architectural Designer I

We are seeking a Designer I who brings thoughtful innovation, high standards, and a passion for residential design. Working in close collaboration with principals and the studio team, this individual will contribute meaningfully to the design excellence that defines our work. Responsibilities And Duties Contribute to project design development, including schematic design, construction documents, and presentation packagesCollaborate with the Principal-in-charge, Team Leader, and project team to establish design objectives, shape the project vision, and support the design processProvide project updates based on client feedback, ensuring structural and building code compliancePrepare working drawings for private residences and acquire measurements to produce existing conditions drawingsGain proficiency in wood frame construction and structural requirementsAssist in developing project design criteria, schedules, and managing project timelinesUpdate CAD drawings (plans, elevations, sections) based on redlines and client feedbackCreate architectural models using manual methods and 3D CAD softwareParticipate in client meetings and construction observation/site visits as needed Qualifications 1-5 years of strong residential design experience and technical developmentStrong understanding of all phases of architectural design developmentDegree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited programA genuine passion for residential architecture and a desire to specialize in this fieldExperience with producing production documents and building code complianceStrong design and graphic presentation skills with proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to produce both manual and digital 3-D modelsStrong multitasking abilities, attention to details, and excellent communication skillsMust be able to work from our Boston studio location Please submit your cover letter, resume, and portfolio to apply for this position. Placement within the range is based on experience and qualifications. New hires are typically placed within the lower to middle portion of the range, with opportunities for salary growth as they develop in the role and advance within the firm.
