Architectural Design Consultant
About the role
Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an Architectural Design Consultant with 10+ years of design experience to join our Monroeville, PA office. The ideal candidate will have proficiency with BIM and experience in all aspects of architectural design.
Responsibilities
- Prepare construction documents using BIM
- See projects through all phases from concept to completion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Coordinate design criteria with other disciplines
- Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information
- Work with construction materials, building codes, and regulatory standards
- Develop material take-offs
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Perform hazardous material analysis
- Travel may be required (under 10% estimated)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering preferred
- 10+ years of design experience on architectural projects
- Experience with site elements and building systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD
- Experience with construction materials, building codes, and regulatory standards
- Background in ADA accessibility requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Architectural license or desire to become licensed
- Experience using Navisworks and Bluebeam software
- Experience in preparing construction documents and specifications
- Experience in providing construction administration services
- Experience performing property or facility condition assessments
- Experience in design/bid/build and design/build project delivery systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and prepare accurate detailed existing drawings
