Waggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Studio, is actively seeking a Senior Architect with historic preservation experience in our New Orleans office. Join a dynamic, collaborative team where you'll lead innovative design across diverse projects, mentor emerging talent, and help shape client relationships and new business opportunities. As the successful new hire, you will be highly motivated, creative, and a team-oriented individual. You will lead the development of design criteria and direction for projects across a broad range of project types and scales with historic preservation experience. You will lead teams through project research and design as well as manage internal staff development. You will cultivate and maintain client relationships and lead pursuit of new business opportunities and markets. Leads the development of design criteria for clients/projectsManages creative design direction during all phases of projectsInterfaces with clients on design issues and aligns architectural solutions with client prioritiesOversees multiple building planning and design effortsLeads team collaboration to advance design conceptsDevelops and maintains relationships with other disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants to support project deliveryGuides and monitors design activities on studio projects; conducts technical and design reviewsLeads design analysis and compilation of specifications for basic to complex architectural assignmentsLeads construction administration of historic renovation projectsWorks closely with project directors with respect to budget and schedule constraintsEnsures knowledge transfer between studio projects and teamsPerforms other duties as requested by leadership Marketing / Business Development Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships. Qualifications Professional Architecture Degree; Master’s preferred15 to 20 years of architecture and design experienceArchitecture LicenseProven experience with successful historic preservation projectsCommitment to design excellenceStrong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and sustainable practicesInterest in working at all scales of design and planning from regional systems to detailsMastery in AutoCAD and RevitProficiency in Rhino and Adobe CC SuiteProficiency in rendering software integrated with Revit such as Enscape desiredHighly effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and stakeholdersAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Waggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Design Studio uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office or client office setting.
