Project Architect / Senior Designer - Tampa, FL
- Design schematic development plans for aviation building/complexes to include land planning and interior design.
- Prepare concept designs and programming studies working with project managers.
- Prepare design and contract documents in all phases.
- Research materials and building assemblies with basic knowledge of materials and methods.
- Research codes and apply them to project requirements.
- Cover drawings and specifications with other internal and external disciplines/consultants.
- Prepare graphics, presentations, contract drawings, regulatory submissions and maintain project record information.
- Responsible for estimates/calculations, design review and project scheduling in coordination with aviation division project management teams.
- Verify all design aspects comply with local code jurisdiction and work independently to apply code provisions and design procedures.
- Utilize cost effective LEED compliant integrations in complex designs when possible.
- Perform site visits and document field/site reports.
- Aid with answering Requests for Information (RFI’s) and reviewing construction project contract required submittals.
- Aid with proposal development and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses.
- Develop and maintain positive team, customer and client relationships.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable and proficient in Revit / BIM 360 and Auto CAD required.
- Skills in 3-D presentation and rendering (ex. Sketch-Up, Artlantis, Lumion, etc.) required.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office suite, Microsoft Project required.
- Candidate must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational skills, attention to detail, be proactive in nature, and have exceptional technology skills.
- Candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions to achieve high client satisfaction.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the US.
- Candidate must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited university required.
- Active Architect License strongly desired (Florida preferred, or ability to become registered in the state).
- Minimum 10 years of architectural design experience, preferably with some aviation and transportation facilities included.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Mainly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking.
- The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds.
- The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
- Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods.
Expected Hours of Work
- The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily.
- Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
- This is an onsite position reporting to the ICE office 5 days per week.
