Architect Senior – Design Manager - Labs

About the role

Supports the execution of renovation and construction projects based on identified needs and established budgets. The Architect Senior acts on behalf of the University Architect as the owner’s Design Manager during design and construction phases of Lab, Advanced Manufacturing and Research centered projects, overseeing planning, architectural layouts, and technical specifications for scientific and research facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage multidisciplinary A/E and Construction teams to ensure compliance with building codes, lab safety codes, ASU Guidelines, and align facility layouts with user needs and budgets.
• Implement and track contributions of subject matter experts in Planning, Labs, Interior Design, Environmental Graphics, Move Coordination, and Landscape Architecture.
• Interact with internal FDM departments for permitting, regulatory approvals (including historic preservation and asbestos clearances) and coordination with local jurisdictions.
• Perform complex assignments in management of programming, design, production and observation of capital and related projects; solicit and document input from internal and external clients; coordinate with applicable regulatory agencies
