Responsibilities
- Project management and supervisory responsibilities
- Fieldwork including construction monitoring, linear and aerial surveys, National Register of Historic Places eligibility testing, and data recovery investigations
- Participation in laboratory processing and curation preparation activities
- Conduct of artifact analysis and production of technical reports
- Strengthening existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities
- Managing Cultural Resources Compliance (CRC) staff and ensuring their effectiveness
- Generating, managing, and maintaining CRC projects on budget and on schedule
- Collaborating with the CR Program Director/Assistant Director to grow the regional office
- Serving as the lead Principal Investigator on cultural resource projects
- Ensuring proper responses to existing contractual obligations for clients
- Participating in regional organization(s) to enhance business reach
- Preparing and managing proposals and budgets
- Preparing and managing archaeological scopes of work and permit applications
- Preparing or assisting in preparing technical reports and other deliverables
- Conducting analysis of field data and artifacts recovered
- Managing day-to-day CRC operations of the RKI regional office
- Completing projects within budgetary constraints
- Communicating professionally and effectively with project staff, clients, resource agencies, sub-consultants
- Maintaining technical and loss prevention practices
- Providing technical training and mentoring to staff members
- Adhering to safety procedures and utilizing appropriate protective equipment
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or Historic Preservation, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 7 years applicable experience
- Experience in interpreting and applying Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the rules and regulations associated with the National Environmental Protection Agency
- A valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meeting company’s auto insurability requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc.
- Ability to communicate information both written and orally
