About the role
This is a project-based, on-call, part-time-as-needed (PTAN) position. Arcadis is seeking entry-level Archaeologists to support environmental planning projects (e.g. linear infrastructure projects) within Ohio and surrounding states.
Responsibilities
- Conduct archaeological field work for multiple projects and at all levels of investigation, from site identification to data recovery, and archaeological monitoring.
- Work on projects that require shovel testing, pedestrian surveys, excavation, and site documentation.
- Collaborate with the Arcadis cultural resources team.
- Apply technical knowledge to support archaeological services over a range of sectors, including linear utilities, oil and gas, mining, rail and transit, and renewable energies.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary environmental team.
- Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including a working knowledge of GPS systems and the ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, as well as carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Work in the field under a range of conditions (e.g., rugged and unfamiliar terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology
- 1-2 years of experience in cultural resources management
- Demonstrated practical field experience within Ohio or surrounding states
- Working knowledge of GPS systems and the collection of field data

Pay
The salary range for this position is $22.69 - $34.04 / per hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
