Archaeologist

Responsibilities

• Conduct pedestrian surveys and site documentation
• Prepare maps, records, and technical reports
• Perform construction monitoring and archaeological excavations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients
• Support project and business development activities within the region

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience; 5 years of experience in environmental and cultural resources management in California (CRM) is highly desired
• Ability to conduct fieldwork and construction monitoring, including travel and work in challenging outdoor environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration in a smaller office environment
• Working knowledge of federal and state cultural resources regulations
• Familiarity with the prehistory, history, archaeology, and ethnography of Northern California

Physical Requirements

• Hiking over uneven terrain
• Carrying field equipment
• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Standing or walking for extended periods of time

Compensation

This is a full-time hourly position with a range of $30.00 – $37.00 per hour. Actual compensation is based upon relevant experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.

About the Role

The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout the region while being based out of our Rocklin, California office.
