Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain proper fieldwork protocols and techniques
- Create results and complete assignments in a timely fashion, often under strict deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
- Show keen attention to detail
- Work independently with minimum guidance and follow instructions
- Achieve proficiency in MS Office software applications, especially Word and Excel
- Communicate effectively through excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Skills
- Ability to demonstrate proper fieldwork protocols and techniques
- Proven ability to create results and complete assignments in a timely fashion, often under strict deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.

- Able to follow instructions and ask informed questions
- Proficiency in MS Office software applications, especially Word and Excel
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, paleontology, or geology with a focus on paleontology
- Minimum of 2+ years of archaeological field experience working with construction crews and around heavy equipment
- Experience in desert and rural conditions, and have direct experience identifying cultural and paleontological materials during construction
- Capacity to collect and maintain field data in an organized manner that is easily understood and accessible to other resource staff
The Ideal Candidates
- Understanding of federal and state laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines governing cultural resources
- Experience with various State and federal agencies and Native American tribes
Work Environment
The position will be exposed to all weather conditions and terrain. The position requires working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
Physical Demands
- Standing, bending, and kneeling for long periods of time
- Lifting at least 20 lbs.
- Hiking 5+ miles per day
Pay
$25.00 - $35.00 Hourly
