About the role

The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS) seeks Archaeological Field Technicians for temporary, full-time, non-benefits-eligible positions at their Central Illinois Field Station in Champaign.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in large-scale Phase I, II, and III archaeological projects.
  • Perform fieldwork and laboratory tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with data processing and specialized analysis.
  • May be required to relocate to the Champaign area.

Requirements

  • Ability to relocate to Champaign, IL.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with archaeological field techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

  • Passing an FBI criminal background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of archaeological survey methods.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
