ARC Sales and Production Associate

Responsibilities

• Aid in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Assist with store operations as required.
• Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
• Ensure that the store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”
• Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
• Be well-versed in and comply with, Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• Support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
• Perform cashier/sales floor duties including cash handling, sorting, pricing, stocking, and restocking merchandise.
• Run clothing racks as needed.
• Hang and ticket clothing on rolling racks from sorting table by department on the correct hanger type, and by category in an 8-hour period.
• Price a minimum of 250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality, and condition of each piece.
• Sort minimum of 300 store-quality garments an hour by department.
• Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.
• Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
• Perform duties related to bric a brac, shoes/accessories, domestics, books/records/toys, and furniture/electrical donations.
• Perform donations/maintenance duties including accepting donations, maintaining cleanliness, safeguarding materials, ensuring a constant flow of donations, assisting with ragging out, baling ragouts and trash, and performing lawn and garden work as needed.

• Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
