Sales and Production Associate

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers seek a Sales and Production Associate to work in a production store and perform various duties including but not limited to:

• Maintain order and create a pleasant work environment.
• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, ensuring proper categories and colorization.
• Ensure store is sufficiently stocked and ragged out according to the "ARC Command Rag Out Calendar."
• Assist with cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.

Support the work therapy program by providing professional conduct, work habits, and supervision as directed by Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Sales Floor:
• Comply with cash handling and security standards.
• Price and stock showcase merchandise.
• Maintain merchandise displays.
• Answer telephone calls efficiently and professionally.
• Sorter:
• Minimum 300 garments per hour by department.
• Absorb donations and sort clothing.
• Hang and ticket clothing on rolling racks.
• Pricer:
• Price 250 garments per hour.
• Assign individual fair market prices for each item.
• Bric a Brac:
• Ticket and price miscellaneous merchandise.
• Shoes/Accessories:
• Ticket and price shoes, handbags, and accessories.
• Domestics:
• Ticket and price linen items.
• Books/Records/Toys:
• Ticket and price all saleable merchandise.
• Furniture/Electrical:
• Ticket and price electrical and furniture donations.
• Runner:
• Place 225 garments per hour on proper racks.
• Straighten and maintain clothing racks.
• Rag out merchandise according to the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
• Ragger:
• Sort and clean saleable merchandise.
• Ticket and price merchandise.
• Rag out merchandise according to the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
• Donations/Maintenance:
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks, and parking areas.
• Accept donations courteously and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness of all donation facilities.
• Safeguard donated materials and equipment.
• Ensure a constant flow of donations to the sorting table.
• Perform lawn and garden work as needed.

• Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
