Sales and Production Associate

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers seek a Sales and Production Associate to contribute to recycling goods that help repair broken lives. The position involves a variety of duties including maintaining a pleasant work environment, serving customers, handling donations, and supporting the work therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, ensuring proper categories and colorization.
• Maintain store stock and “rag out” according to the calendar.
• Clean and maintain store property.
• Report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
• Comply with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• Support the work therapy program by providing professional conduct, work habits, and supervision.
• Perform cashier/sales floor duties such as cash handling, sorting, pricing, stocking, and restocking.
• Sort, clean, and ticket miscellaneous merchandise donations.
• Process donations of shoes, accessories, linens, books, records, toys, furniture, and electrical items.
• Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks, and parking areas.
• Receive and receipt donated materials efficiently.
• Ensure a constant flow of donations to the sorting table.
• Perform lawn and garden work as needed.

Requirements

• Able to lift 100 pounds.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
