Sales and Production Associate

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers seek a Sales and Production Associate to contribute to recycling goods that help repair broken lives. This position supports the work therapy program and performs a variety of duties including handling donations, restocking merchandise, and assisting with sorting and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Restock fitting room merchandise back to racks in proper category and color code.
• Maintain merchandise displays as directed.
• Answer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manner.
• Ensure store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” according to the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”
• Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
• Comply with the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• Support the work therapy program by providing professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed).
• Perform cashier duties, including cash handling and security standards.
• Price merchandise, sort, price, stock, and “rag out” showcase merchandise.
• Run clothing racks, place garments on racks, and assist with running racks.
• Sort, clean, and ticket miscellaneous merchandise donations.
• Sort, clean, and ticket shoes, handbags, and accessories donations.
• Sort, clean, and ticket domestic items donations.
• Sort, clean, and ticket books, records, and toys donations.
• Sort, clean, and test electrical and furniture donations.
• Mark down furniture items on the sales floor in accordance with policy.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks, and parking areas daily.
• Accept donations in accordance with standard policies while providing courteous, respectful service to the donor.
• Able to lift 100 pounds.
• Receive and receipt donated material in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of all donation facilities.
• Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.

Requirements

This position requires a strong ability to communicate effectively, excellent customer service skills, and the physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to speak and understand English is essential for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
