About the Role
The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers provide support to men and women facing social and spiritual challenges through an in-residence rehabilitation program. This program offers a clean living environment, work therapy, counseling, and spiritual direction, focusing on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God. As a Payroll Clerk, you will support the Finance office by performing various payroll and human resources functions, contributing to a mission that recycles goods to repair lives.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile operating and store accounts.
- Maintain personnel files and I9 files.
- Enter new hires, rate changes, and other information into the Paychex system.
- Receive and compute time cards for employees.
- Maintain employee attendance cards.
- Audit eligibility and payment of paid absences.
- Complete the payroll process and prepare manual checks as necessary.
- Act as custodian for the secondary petty cash fund.
- Handle employee benefits, including:
- Maintaining health and life insurance program information.
- Reviewing records to ensure accurate deductions.
- Processing insurance claim forms (disability, worker's compensation, etc.).
- Completing quarterly pension remittance forms.
- Support the work therapy program by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by the Supervisor).
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- High degree of confidentiality.
