Arboretum Groundskeeper

About the role

Our team is responsible for a wide range of job tasks on the Arboretum's 350+ acres:

• Mowing & turf care
• Spreading mulch/woodchips
• Herbicide application & weeding
• Leaf cleanup
• Remediation of deer damage on plants
• Plant health care
• Tree and shrub pruning and removals
• Several other minor but important tasks

Responsibilities

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform various job tasks
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies

Requirements

• Passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
• Valid driver's license

Qualifications

Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required.
