About the role

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, is seeking a Vehicle Inspector to oversee vehicle inspections, manage the WIP pipeline, and resolve discrepancies between buyers and sellers.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection Oversight: Ensure accuracy and consistency in vehicle inspections.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage the WIP pipeline to ensure efficient vehicle flow.
  • Arbitration Resolution: Resolve disputes arising from representations made on the auction block.
  • Hands-on Quality Control: Conduct inspections when necessary to verify vehicle condition.
  • Customer Liaison: Provide prompt and courteous service to internal and external customers.
  • Technical Compliance: Enforce auction policies, NAAA guidelines, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Third-Party Coordination: Coordinate third-party inspections and maintain accurate records.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain precise records of arbitration outcomes and provide status updates.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other tasks assigned by the designated manager.

  • Technical/Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and diagnostic capabilities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous automotive auction, inspection, or mechanical experience required.
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license meeting the requirements.
  • Able to safely drive a variety of makes/models/sizes of vehicles.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, mobile inspection tools, and internal inventory databases.
