Description Project Policy Analyst is an entry level position that uses skills as a professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures in providing project communication material and meeting support. CW3E projects apply science and technology to optimize water resources, including the Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations (FIRO) program, atmospheric river reconnaissance, and the Atmospheric River Program. The AR Recon Analyst prepares presentations, documentation, communication material for across CW3E with a focus on the globally-expanding Atmospheric River Reconnaissance program (Global AR Recon; GARRP). Effectively communicates with PI and Project Managers to ensure that presentation of the material is correct. Interfaces with the SIO Communications department and other SIO departments on behalf of GARRP to ensure effective representation in media and other opportunities. Works with partners (Air Force, NOAA) to set up and execute communication opportunities with a variety of audiences (press releases, airfield events) under the guidance of the PI and Project Managers. Provides primary organizational and logistics support for the annual AR Recon Workshop. Tracks publications and presentations related to the Program. Keeps a variety of related documentation up to date. Works with program management to improve efficiency, organize and support communications across CW3E. Provides additional support across CW3E programs as needed. Qualifications Project management skills. Time management skills and ability to work independently to execute assigned tasks.Basic skills to analyze and research information and learn to synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.Knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.Proven ability to multitask and work independently while effectively organizing and prioritizing a high volume of responsibilities to meet deadlines. Skilled at quickly adapting to changing priorities while exercising sound judgment and taking initiative.Skills to learn organization-specific and other computer application programs.Efficient communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.Ability to work with multiple people across projects and programs.
