Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor, follow up, and assist in the processing of all revenue cycle functions.
- Aid in processing insurance claims including submission, claim correction, and resubmission.
- Ensure claims are successfully submitted and received at the payer level.
- Follow up on unpaid insurance claims and communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues.
- Manage insurance ticklers, monitor timely claim processing by insurance companies, and ensure proper reimbursement.
- Prepare and submit claim level appeals when necessary.
- Assist patients in resolving insurance claim issues and offer self-pay balance payment options.
Primary Interactions
- Internal – Supervisor, coworkers, physicians, and patients.
- External – Insurance companies, referring physician offices, patients, and the public.

Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of billing software associated with healthcare offices.
- Understanding of medical office and hospital operations.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, both internally and externally.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking).
- Compliance with HIPAA and OIG requirements.
- Passing background check and drug/alcohol testing.
Physical Demands
- Sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, handle documents, bend, stoop as needed, and reach with hands and arms.
- Regular use of keyboard and computer.
- Strong vision abilities for extensive computer-related work.
Work Experience
- Preferably 1 year of experience in medical billing.

Schedule
- Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility required due to patient load).
