AR Accountant

AR Accountant Location: Fairfield County, CT Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite Reports To: VP of Finance About The Opportunity A growing and established distribution company is seeking an AR Accountant to join its accounting team. This position supports daily accounting operations with a primary focus on accounts receivable, customer account management, cash applications, and general accounting support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to contribute in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities will be assigned based on team workload and may include: Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and on a timely basisReview daily bank activity and record customer paymentsProcess daily bank depositsProcess customer credit card transactions as neededPerform customer accounts receivable reconciliationsMonitor collections activity and follow up on outstanding balances and inquiriesProcess customer credit applicationsHandle customer trade credit inquiriesProvide accounts payable data entry supportAssist with month-end close activitiesSupport annual financial reporting requirements and external auditsParticipate in special projects and other ad hoc assignments as neededProvide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field2+ years of accounting or accounts receivable experienceUnderstanding of inventory, sales order, and purchase order processesNetSuite experience preferredAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skillsSolid analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholdersSelf-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethicAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
