About the role
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a Program Director for Aquatics at the YMCA. The ideal candidate will help develop and lead a team through inspiration, coaching, and clear communication of expectations. They will also manage staff, volunteers, and budget for aquatics at the branch.
Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises branch aquatic program activities.
- Manages staff, volunteers and budget for aquatics at the branch.
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
- Maintains accurate records of staff certifications.
- Makes sure records of staff certifications are current and complete.
- Maintains daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
- Ensures proper maintenance of pools.
- Schedules and secures pool facilities.
- Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and maintenance.
- Conducts and ensures proper lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 21.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Bilingual-English and Spanish-preferred.
- Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, AED and O2.
- Prior experience as Swim Lesson Instructor.
Qualifications
- Completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff within 30 days of hire.
- Working with Program Volunteers within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of Bloodborne Pathogens training within 60 days of hire.
- Lifeguard Instructor certification and Certified Pool Operator within 60 days of hire.
