About the role
The City of Huntsville’s Parks & Recreation department is seeking qualified applicants for the Aquatic Instructor position(s). This is specialized recreation work and limited supervisory work in conducting swimming classes and lessons and supervising public swimming activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach and conduct a variety of swimming classes and lessons
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the pool and equipment
Requirements
- Proof of enrollment or High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency
- Some experience as a qualified lifeguard and instructor at a large public swimming pool or aquatic facility
- Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
- Must obtain Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, or Water Aerobics Instructor Certificate within 11 months of hire date
